Later, Renaissance scientists such as Kepler and Galileo held that the true causes of natural phenomena could be formulated in accordance with mathematical laws. Even before Euclid, as demonstrated in the pre-Christian Greek drama, the workings of fate dic tated human experience in the same way as the workings of deductive reason ing dictate rigorous mathematical conclusions. John was with the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, while Abigail, was overseeing their farm in Braintree, Massachusetts. On this day in 1777, for instance, the couple exchanged a total of five letters, though for obvious reasons (the slow speed of travel in the 18th century for one), the letters weren't direct responses to each other. This was an excellent book about the life of Edward Curtis. As an aside much of this story takes place in and around Seattle which is close to where I live so that made the story even more interesting for me and perhaps other Seattlites. David Drummond's style reminded me of a television news reporter more than the voice of someone telling the story of an important piece of American history. Does Shay's apologies really matter if she doesn't remember what she actually did? We also get to see tonnes more of Tally's world in this book. The Pretty world is so different to that of the Uglies, and Tally seems to be a changed person too.
